The story behind this site
About

This website emerged from frustrations often talked about amongst our kinkster friends. Finding out how to do kink is challenging, with many unwritten rules and hard earned lessons spread across multiple sources. To address those frustrations this website contains fact sheets that summarize what is known about kink activities and the associated risks.
Our Story
Our Vision for the Fact Sheets
The fact sheets are free for anyone to use and distribute. Information is often stuck behind paywalls, or costly workshops and events. While we recognise that learning specific skills can be worth the investment in such workshops, good teaching is incredibly valuable after all, information about risks and safety should be free to everyone. If you run training or events feel free to print these fact sheets and share them with your participants.
The fact sheets have a creative commons CC BY-NC-ND 4.0 DEED licence. You cannot charge for these worksheets , but you can reshare them in any format you like.
Free to use
The sources being used to create the fact sheets will be given as footnotes on each sheet. If you ever spot an error or omission please contact us using the contact form on this website and we will check it out.
We are experienced, but not experts, and do not present ourselves as experts. We aim to collect the evidence provided by experts and take the time to present that information in a short and clear format.
Well researched
Information is often designed to be used by either tops or bottoms, unfortunately it is rarely designed to be used by both. One of the principles we wish to follow here is to share information in a way that can be used by anyone involved in kink. Everyone should have access to information about the risks they are taking or facilitating others to take, and how to manage those risks as best as can be,
We endeavour to never limit information to one 'type' of person, and will avoid language that implies that.
Human centered
We will try out best to not make risk judgements for you. We believe your body is your own for you to explore and use as you wish. You may be a very cautious person, with a low tolerance for risk, or a carefree person, with a high tolerance for risk. Each is a valid choice, we just want to help you find information about risks if you wish to seek it out.
The fact sheets are intended to be just that, the facts, and judgements about how much risk to take is up to you.
